Ethical Production

All Emily’s House rugs are handwoven in India by skilled artisans working in workshops that follow International Labour Organisation standards. Weavers are paid fairly and work in safe conditions, ensuring each rug is ethically made.

When to Use Underlay

Semi-thick rugs are heavy enough to stay in place without underlay. However, on smooth surfaces such as wood, tile or laminate, we recommend anti-slip underlay to improve grip, add comfort, reduce noise and extend the rug’s life.

Care Instructions

We hope you love your braided handwoven jute rug, but if you decide it’s not right, we’ve designed it to be as easy to care for as possible. Follow these tips for best results:

• Unroll and leave flat for 24 hours when first used
• Vacuum gently on a low suction setting
• Cut loose fibres with scissors—never pull
• Blot spills immediately with a clean white cloth—avoid saturating fibres
• Spot clean gently and allow to dry naturally
• Keep away from damp or humid environments
• Rotate every few months to ensure even wear

Over time, natural fibre rugs may show slight colour variations or fading. These natural changes are part of the rug’s unique character.

Delivery and Returns

In-stock braided handwoven jute rugs are dispatched within five working days, with worldwide shipping available. A tracking number is provided once dispatched.

If your rug isn’t right for you, in-stock items can be returned within two days of delivery for a full refund (minus postage). Custom-made rugs are non-refundable.
