Extra Large Chunky Jute Rug with Thick Braided Weave
This extra large chunky jute rug adds warmth and natural texture to living rooms, hallways, or dining areas. Emily’s House has chosen this rug handwoven from jute plant fibres, as it features a thick braided weave in a soft natural tone with four raised borders. The design is the same on both sides, making the rug fully reversible.
Each chunky jute rug has a soft feel underfoot and is approximately 1 cm thick, rising to 1.5 cm at the borders. If placing near a doorway, allow for potential clearance issues.
Made from jute grown in India and Bangladesh, these rugs offer natural insulation and mild noise-reduction qualities. Emily’s House loves jute as it is a renewable fibre that requires minimal water and no pesticides, making this a sustainable choice for environmentally aware households.

Each rug is woven in a workshop in India that follows International Labour Organisation standards and provides safe working conditions and fair wages.

Jute is a plant-based fibre that can be spun into coarse, durable threads. It grows best in the warm, humid climate of South India and is second only to cotton in terms of global production and usage.

Shedding and Loose Strands
Some shedding is normal and can be reduced by vacuuming gently on a low setting. You may also notice the occasional loose strand, which can be trimmed or pushed back into the weave.

Delivery and Returns
In-stock chunky jute rugs are dispatched within five working days and include tracking. International delivery is available. You may return items within two days of receiving them, excluding postage. Made-to-order rugs are non-refundable.
