Style – Jute Rugs
The jute rug runner is a great all-rounder and fits many interior styles, including contemporary, Scandinavian, bohemian, ethnic and classic country homes. It works well in a kitchen area, hallway or any space with high footfall. Its plain look also makes it suitable for a bedroom, living room or office space.
It has a thickness of 1cm and ends just under 1.5cm high, woven in a thinner braided weave.

Materials and Texture – Jute
This jute rug runner is handmade in India using high-quality materials and a simple, functional design. The weave is the same on both sides, making the rug reversible. The flat-woven texture feels soft to the touch, and the thick braided construction gives it weight and stability. It won’t shift around and does not need underlay.
You may notice some loose strands, especially at first. These can be trimmed or tucked back in without damaging the rug.
Size and Shape
The standard jute rug runner measures 75cm wide by 225cm long. We also stock other sizes. For custom dimensions or matching sets, contact us.
Age
All jute rug runners are newly made and unused. They are handmade with high-quality jute. Natural shedding may occur initially, which is typical for plant-based fibres.
Production
The rugs are woven in workshops in India that follow fair labour practices. These facilities operate in line with ILO standards, key UN conventions, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Maintaining and Caring for Your Carpet
Jute is durable and low maintenance. The weave on both sides allows for reversibility. To care for your jute rug runner:
- Vacuum on low suction and clean both sides regularly
- Blot spills quickly with a clean towel
- Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals
- Professional cleaning is best for stubborn stains
Stain Treatment
Jute is naturally absorbent, so dealing with spills fast is key. Water marks usually settle over time. Avoid chemical treatments as they may cause further discolouration. If unsure, consult a professional cleaner.
