Vacuum your Moroccan kilim regularly on a low setting without a rotating brush. Turn it occasionally to distribute wear more evenly, and vacuum the reverse side to remove trapped dust. From time to time, you can also take the rug outside and shake it gently. Do not pull loose threads. If one appears, trim it carefully instead of tugging it.

If something is spilt on the rug, act quickly. Blot the area with cold water, then press it gently with a clean kitchen towel. Work from the outside of the mark towards the centre to stop it from spreading. Do not rub the weave or use bleach or harsh cleaning products, as these may damage the fibres or affect the colour.
