This thick braided design is handwoven in a natural blonde tone with four raised borders and a consistent weave on both sides, making the rug fully reversible for extended use.
Thick Borders
Each of these square jute rugs measures 1 cm in the centre with borders rising to about 1.5 cm, so door clearance may be needed. The texture feels soft underfoot yet structured, creating a grounded look without overwhelming your space.
Made from the fibres of the jute plant, grown in India and Bangladesh, these rugs are an eco-friendly choice. All rugs are woven in Indian workshops that meet ILO standards and follow the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Every rug is created under safe conditions with fair wages, preserving traditional craftsmanship.
About Jute
Jute is a strong, plant-based fibre widely used in sustainable textiles and second only to cotton in global production. It thrives in the monsoon climate of South Asia, where heat and humidity support its growth.
Natural Vegetable Fibre
The fibre is harvested from the plant stem and spun into durable threads. Jute is renewable, compostable and biodegradable, making it a responsible choice for eco-conscious interiors. Thicker weaves may show shedding or loose strands, which can be trimmed or tucked back in. Occasional vacuuming on a gentle setting helps manage this over time. These square jute rugs are also reversible, allowing you to flip the rug for a fresh look if one side shows wear.
Underlay

Care and Maintenance

Returns are accepted within two days of receipt (buyer covers postage). Please note bespoke square jute rugs are non-refundable as they are made to order.
