Fine jute has a tighter, lower-profile weave and is particularly useful where a flatter natural rug is required. Thicker and semi-thick jute designs offer greater visual texture and a more substantial feel.
Jute is a natural plant fibre, so it requires different care from wool. It should be kept away from damp and humid environments, and spills should be dealt with promptly. Our jute rugs are also available in made-to-measure sizes, with bespoke production generally taking around three months.
Made-to-Measure Rugs
Sometimes the standard rug sizes simply do not suit the room.
An unusually large sitting room, a long hallway, a specific dining table arrangement or an awkward architectural space may require something more precise. Emily’s House offers made-to-measure rugs for customers who need a particular size, shape, colour or design.
Our bespoke collection includes made-to-measure jute, kilim and handwoven wool rugs. Depending on the design, rugs can be produced to specific dimensions and, for selected pieces, colour requirements can also be discussed.
Made-to-order rugs typically have a lead time of around three months, so we recommend allowing sufficient time when planning a new interior or renovation project. Bespoke rugs are made specifically to order and are generally non-refundable.
