Katrien Vermeeren is the founder of Emily’s House, a London rug specialist known for its handpicked collection of vintage, handmade and made-to-measure rugs. Her interest in interiors started early, growing up around her parents’ furniture shops in Belgium, before travels through Turkey, Morocco, the Middle East and North Africa introduced her to traditional textiles, Berber rugs and Beni Ourain carpets. Today, Katrien personally selects rugs for their wool quality, craftsmanship, colour and character, drawing on more than 10 years of experience sourcing and selling handmade pieces.
