Description
Checkerboard Rug Brown White Short Pile Wool Rug 240x335cm
Handwoven with premium wool, this checkerboard rug is simple yet sophisticated!
It is hand knotted with excellent wool quality and natural hand-spun wool! The latter gives the rug extra depth, instead of using solid block colours, and translates in a more sophisticated and softer look and feel.
It is handmade with soft wool and a very short pile height. The low pile makes it work in many different rooms: it works as a living room rug as well as in kitchen areas or in hallways.
Bespoke Size&Colour Combo
This rug I can also be made in bespoke sizing and different colour options. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like a quote.

You can work with your intuitive Feng Shui compass to determine the size but if that is not getting you anywhere, then please find here some guide lines.
Underlay : When do I need underlay?
I recommended using underlay if your rug is fairly lightweight, like a kilim or a thin short-pile rug, that is placed on a hard surface like wood, laminate or tiles. For this rug, underlay is not necessarily required but depending on the floor beneath and the furniture on top, it can help the rug from sliding. Underlay also provides extra cushioning which makes the rug extra-comfortable to walk on. What’s more, it offers noise-reduction properties and may even increase the longevity of your rug.

Maintaining and caring for your kilim
This brown checkerboard rug is relatively low maintenance and only requires and occasional vacuum clean.
It is best to vacuum it on a lower setting and make sure you also do the reverse now and then as just as much dust accumulates there, as on the front.
Furthermore, it is sensible to give your rug a good shake outside every couple of months.
Stain treatment
The quicker you deal with spills, the less chance there is of it staining.
The effective way to treat a spill, for example red wine, is to apply water to begin with to dilute the stain, followed by mopping it with a kitchen towel straight away.
Start from the outside of the stain and work inwards to limit the affected area, but do not rub the stain as this can damage the yarn. Once a carpet gets wet, it is important to dry it out thoroughly afterwards, to prevent the wool from rotting.
Don’t use any bleach or chemical treatments as they might take the stain out, but leave a white stain instead.
When in doubt, professional carpet cleaning will always remain the best choice. If you need advice on this, pleased get in touch.
